Her Power is Within. An Art Journal page.

Howdy Bloggers, Lisa here with a Friday mixed media update.
Only one day off for me this week, so I'm keeping this short and sweet.

Playing in my journal this week I revisited some half-finished pieces and resurrected an old stencil to use
on a past background page created during a Dyan Reaveley class last year.

This was the page from the class, of which we completed 3 pages, this was the extra.

Then I dragged out these quirky fun Dina Wakley stamps.
I applied them using Black Stazon ink.

Oh dear, lens flare from the stencils,
but you get the idea of where the background is at.

Resurrection time.
Jo Kinder, the creative brain behind Kinder Kreations,
designed thes awesome 3 part stencils a few years ago.
They are the coolest stencils ever and I happened upon them within my stash
and just had to pull them out to play.

I used 3 different coloured acrylic paints to sponge apply the stencils
and it produces such a fun effect .

I then added extra details with more acrylics,
adding a little flesh tone, hair in black and Payne's gray and detailing her eyes,
but didn't really fuss around too much as the stencil really does all the work.

A little more teal and turquoise around the focal point plus
a strip of black to add a little journal element to the page and this was done.

Not only is it a fabulous focal point for any art journal page, to me, the stencil image bears a striking resemblance
to an amazingly creative and inspiring young woman who I have known since a toddler,
and who is soon to graduate University.
I dedicate this page to you Gee.
May the strength and drive that you display give you the power to succeed in all challenges you have ahead of you.
I believe there is nothing you can not accomplish, you are inspirational and I look forward to watching you evolve and grow into an incredible woman of epic energy and flow.

Thanks for dropping by the SC blog today.
See you next time.

Lisa xx
