A Peiskos House

 Hello Scrapping Clearly world

This is my first post since joining the team here at Scrapping Clearly. You will have to forgive me as I'm a bit rusty but here goes and it is a big one, I am creating a village. 

My first post is inspired by the January Mood Affirmation. 

Wow. 

Now if you know me, I don't really do pink. It just isn't my thing, but I have jumped right in and have come up with a little plan. Well, it is more like a 11-month plan. My goal is to make a paper house inspired by each mood board affirmation for the year. I can hear you saying - "Umm Leanne, there are 12 months in a year" and you are correct. I just missed January. (Well maybe not, it has been started so I will share that one another day). So now I'm expecting you all to hold me accountable for completing the year of houses. 

So let us begin. 

I started with a page from Heidi Swapp Art Walk paper pad that I cut into a template for my first house.

Next I added some DecoArt Crackle Paint, Some washi and design vellum from the Peisko Lucky Findings Art Foundation kit, and some dress pattern paper. 

Then I added some more from the Peisko Lucky Findings Foundation kit - Tranparency, Design Reinforcements, and some more Washi. I also added some bits and pieces - Tim Holtz -idea-ology Quotations, some Tim Holtz Stencils (you'll have to forgive me because they are that dirty I can't read the labels to tell you their names) with some Dina Wakley Paint (Magenta, Ruby, Ocean), punchinella, negatives, and the letter P for Perfect as reflected in the affirmation (Tim Holtz - idea-ology Transparent Tiles).

Then I joined it together to build the shape of the house, added on some gold foil, some Dina Wakley Collage Words, some more Crackle Paint, and some old extrememly OLD clear sticker words. 

So here you have it. My first house of my village. 

and now I will share some close ups for you so you can see some of the details. 

So there you have it. My first post for Scrapping Clearly.

What this creation has taught me is that I really need to go shopping for some NEW supplies. It has been so long.

 Hello to our Scrapping Clearly fans!

Whilst I love art journals and tags, I started my crafty journey as a Scrapbooker. My go-to will always be creating scrap pages.

Last year, Kylie released LUCKYfindings Foundation paper kits - AH-mazing designs printed on all different papers. 

I have made a few different arty projects with Foundation kits, but today I am sharing the scrapbook pages I have made. LUCKYfindings Foundation kits are the perfect start to a scrapbook page, and such a great way to add layers and interest.

Hi everyone

When my friend Kaz sent me these photos my first thought was WHAT THE DUCK!   I mean it's not every day a duck crashes through your kitchen window then wanders off to your craft room to fly around crapping everywhere trying to find its way out.   Can you imagine the mess (and the insurance claim!)  

So this page started with the title and a scrap "waste not" page from a previous crafting day with Jo, Josette & Ava.

Here's the finished page

I added a little stenciling (Vickie Boutin and Tim Holts mini layered stencils)with black archival ink, Art Anthology Sorbet (Just Peachy and Pixie.

I then went through my stash and pulled out stickers and embellishments including

I thought I was finished but decided to give my background a little coat of gesso to tone it down a bit.

Em with you today, and I'm sharing a layout with you this week.
I did draw just a little inspiration from the January Affirmation board too, and this page used lots of old goodies from my stash that needed to be played with.

Let's look at the affirmation board and see how I dissected it.

This week I chose to focus on the eye, shades of green, some lace and what I had left of the 'Aliferous' paper. Yes, the colours did detour a bit, but I do love the outcome.

Let's talk some product. I had green in mind when choosing my pieces. So I went through my many many products and pulled out green things, starting with Tim Holtz idea-ology paper. And the left overs of a sheet of the Aliferous rice paper. I then needed 'embellishments' or pieces that layered. So I fussy cut elements from Stamperia's Amazonia collection. This also introduced colour that led me to use this stunning image that the layout is centered around. 

While fussy cutting I pulled out the Vintage Butterflies transfer sheet by Dress my crafts, and once transferred, fussy cut that stunning large butterfly out. Resin castings are also used from a variety of different moulds. These are painted with Art Alchemey Metallic - Dark Forest, and highlighted with Finnabair wax - Rich Copper, my fave. 

Once everything was glued down, then came the colour on the background. I used a variety of sprays in my collection to get the desired effect. Then I finished it off with an Aall & Create stamp - 'Scripted Thoughts' with some Staz-on ink in 'Spiced Chai.'

That's it. Lots of mixed up products resulting in a fun, and what I feel is a rather striking layout.
