You'll turn out ordinary - Georgia Arthur

Back again with another journal page inspired by this month's Moodboard. This page was done in a 6x6 Kraft journal with some layered background paints using a brayer and a gel plate and some stencilling. Stamping and heat embossing the background using orange and yellow embossing powders by Ranger. I printed the Luckyfindings imagery sheet 'that girl street art' on transparency then fussy cut out my image, layered it over the top of the embossed background to give it a cool effect. Finished it off with a sentiment from Dina Wakley quotes. Enjoy this fabulous moodboard that Scrappingclearly has put together for us to be inspired to create.

My new fave by Tracey B

 Hi everyone

There's still plenty of time to enter this month's challenge.   Here's another LO to inspire you.

I started with a 'waste not' page (from cleaning Distress inks from my stencils) and added some Lunar Paste (Triple berry) using a palette knife.   The stencil lifted - a lot - so I didn't get a crisp image.   I think I was too rushed and definitely too heavy handed so next time I'm going to try using a sponge applicator with the paste.   To grunge up the mess, I added Color Clow (Alexandrite) and spritzed with water.

Other products I've used include

13 @rts patterned paper - Young and Free
49 & Market Alena ephemera bits
Heidi Swapp Carefree stickers
gelli paper
October Afternoon mini market alphas

Double scrapbook layouts with 49&Market - by Amanda Hartmann

Hi all,

I am a scrapbooker at heart (Even though I venture boldly into any and all paper crafts). When scrapping, I mostly do singles, but recently, I have started some doubles again. I started because of the amazing 49&Market paper packs available NOW at Scrapping Clearly.

Follow this link to search the full range of papers - Kylie has so many in stock.

 https://scrappingclearly.com.au/product-category/12-papers/49-and-market-12-papers/

Small sample of some in store!

These paper packs make it SO easy to put a double together with all the coordinating papers!

Add some rub ons, and ephemera and the page is done!

Today I am sharing 3 double layouts using 49&Market papers.

LAYOUT 1

Of my stepdads 80th family lunch - lots of photos!

USED INKWELL - the best blues!

“Make piece with your broken pieces” - Curated Collective Designer Lisa Oxley

This powerful affirmation ties the page together emotionally. It feels reflective, gentle and empowering, encouraging the viewer to embrace imperfection and past experiences as part of their personal growth journey.

Lush, layered, and whimsical — drawing from vintage, botanical, and steampunk aesthetics. The dominant green palette, contrasted with pale purples, yellows, and neutrals, offers a sense of both growth and nostalgia.

   •   Focal Point: The striking, curly-haired woman with green goggles, framed by a windowpane, immediately captures attention. She feels like a time-traveler or daydreamer — curious, observant, and stylishly out of time.

   •   Botanical Elements: Multiple leafy fern prints and natural tones are stenciled in vibrant green shades across the background, adding depth and an organic rhythm to the composition.

   •   Vintage Ephemera: Scattered vintage pieces — an old suitcase filled with macarons, antique lantern, travel ticket, window frame, and retro camera — create a nostalgic storytelling vibe, suggesting travel, memory, and discovery.

The slightly surreal portrait and the layered storytelling elements evoke themes of:

   •   Healing from the past

   •   Embracing one’s full self — even the “broken” parts

   •   Freedom to imagine, travel, and transform

   •   Mixed Media Play: Acrylics or inks in lime and citron tones serve as a base wash. Black and white pen work, splatters, and script overlays add detail and edge.

   •   Collage Layers: Die cuts, fussy-cut pieces, and possibly digital ephemera stack into a rich, tactile arrangement.

   •   Balance of Contrast: The intense green pops against the cooler purples and neutrals, creating a vibrant, eye-catching effect.

   •   Window: A symbol of perspective or inner reflection.

   •   Camera & Ticket: Journey, capturing memories, and time travel (literally or creatively).

   •   Macaron Box: Nostalgic indulgence, sweetness of life’s small joys.

   •   Lantern: Light through the darkness — hope.

Book of Me : Junk Journal

Hello and welcome to my first blog post on the Scrapping Clearly Blog and I’m really excited to be sharing my version of  “The Book of Me”  in a junk journal.

First I created a distress ink background using the colour palette from the January “ Mood board” : Summer Sorbet. I stamped my images directly onto the distress background and added clear embossing powder and heat set. Next I used my water colour paints to add extra depth of colour to the stamped “ eye” image and for some background splatters. The next step was to use some vintage music sheets and scrapbook cardstock to create the body of my book. I used the printed scrapbook paper to create pockets for tags and ephemera, that I intended adding to my journal.

Next step was to use my sewing machine to sew in the pockets and to add ephemera to tags etc. and stitch the book together.

Then back to my craft desk to start adding my colour palette to tags, pockets and mini cards. I used the same colours throughout the journal, adding extra interest with a stencil and string/ribbons and adding vintage inspired scrapbooking stickers and ephemera.

Adding extra embellishments with paper bags, envelopes, paper clips and whatever I had at hand.

Repeating the colour palette helps to connect the pages and adds a consistent feel throughout the journal.

I added distress ink to the back of pre printed cards too as these will be perfect for adding handwritten journal sentiments and thoughts along with the weekly prompts over the coming weeks of creating “ My book of Me”.

Adding distress ink around the edges of the tags and cards also creates a warmth to the journal. I created a few pockets with some index cards created in a former project.

To create more of that vintage feel I used a mini distress water spritzer to allow the ink to re-activate and create that old world vintage vibe.

Make sure you head over to the Scrapping Clearly store: to checkout so many amazing junk journaling supplies and scrapping clearly findings. Including

Visible Image Stamp : Where Dreams Take You
7 Gypsies Mini Tags
Prima Watercolour Paints
Assorted stencils, cardstock, tags and ephemera everything you need to create your very own version of “ The Book of Me”.

Happy creating, I hope I’ve inspired you to create your own “ Book of Me” in whatever form suits you best, cheers Rox

'Courage is Quiet' by Curative Collective Emma Zappone

Hey there SC friends!
Em with you today, sharing an AJ page in my ABM Handy Sized Journal.
I was going to start with all the colours on the January Palette Play, but decided to only create with 2 instead. I chose the lemon sherbet and crisp white (well my take on those colours anyway 😜)

The image is one from Lucky Findings imagery sheet Chrysanthemum.

Lots of layers started this page, first with a piece from Lucky Findings Foundations Golden Age, which I then scribble a circled around.
Then I layered a few different rub ons to add to the story.

Using complimentary tags behind my image also allowed her to shine through the layers.
This was a fun way to be creative, simplifying the mood board and limiting your colour palette is a fun way to get a page completed.

Thanks for popping by.
I look forward to seeing all your creations being shared on the FB page.
You are all so awesome and inspiring!

Till next time, Em xx

This is the Story - Georgia Arthur

Hi everyone, I created this journal piece taking inspiration from the January Moodboard. It comprises of paints from Dina Wakley paints and Ranger alcohol inks to create this vibrant background. I used a gel plate to apply the paint on it then the brayer to lift the paint and apply it to my journal page. I used various stencils to give this a hint of texture in the background. My image is from the Luckyfindings 'nashville city' collection. A Dina Wakley stamp in the background of my image to tie this page together for a hot summery, fruity vibe feel. Title using a handheld Dymo label maker. I hope these colours inspire you to create your own Summer Sorbet vibe.

Friends don't let you drink pisco sour alone by Tracey B

 Hi everyone

Last week I shared the papers I made using my gelli plate.

For the base of this layout I cleaned off the stencils I used onto another piece of paper.    This is something I pretty much always do and usually have about 5 backgrounds building up in my stash - waste not, want not!

I then punched a variety of circles from the gelli papers.

Here's the finished LO.

Other products I've used include

Lucky Findings Foundations - Citrine Diamonds

Dot Stencil, versamarkRanger embossing Glaze (Crackling campfire) and pink embossing powder.

Distress Ink (Kitsch Flamingo, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber)

Idea-ology Big Talk stickers - Snarky

Vicki Boutin patterned paper - Color Study

Pink Paislee patterned paper - Citrus Bliss

“Creative Slay” - Curative Collective Designer Lisa Oxley

Theme: Empowered creativity with bold feminine energy

Mood: Fierce, vibrant, fearless

   •   Frida Kahlo-inspired portrait dominates the bottom-right quadrant.

      •   Painted with vivid expressionism — signature arched brows, intense gaze, and bold floral headpiece.

      •   Symbolises strength, defiance, and creativity.

   •   The large round swatch wheel at top left (with red poppy at center) reinforces the colour theory/artist motif.

   •   Title words “Creative Slay” are layered collage-style, cut from printed text elements.

Colour Palette:

   •   Primary tones: Turquoise, teal, magenta, orange, red, and black.

   •   Accents: White gessoed spaces, vivid pinks, purples, and pops of yellow.

   •   Balance: Left side has loose, expressive florals and paint swashes. Right side is darker and more solid, creating contrast and grounding the portrait.

 Techniques & Media:

   •   Mixed media layering: collage, acrylic, stencil, ink, and gel printing.

   •   Texture & script stamping: Grungy, distressed marks and textural layers create visual depth.

   •   Paint drips and scratches: Suggest movement and raw artistic emotion.

   •   Framing ephemera: Vintage-style frame around the swatch wheel adds dimension.

   •   Typography: Combines serif printed text with grunge fonts and handwritten scribbles for an art-journal aesthetic.

Botanical Elements:

   •   Loose wildflower illustrations and layered florals (possibly from napkin collage or fussy cuts) create natural flow, movement, and contrast with the graphic, grounded portrait.

   •   Some elements appear transferred or stencilled — blending organic with graphic.

Message & Symbolism:

   •   The phrase “Creative Slay” suggests unapologetic creative power.

   •   The Frida figure is not only iconic but positioned as a muse — surrounded by paint, swatches, and florals. A nod to the artistic process and creative confidence.

   •   Overall, this piece champions women artists, bold expression, and trusting one’s inner creative fire.

My interpretation of the January mood board - PJ Laing

Hi everyone, welcome to my very first blog post!

I’m so excited to be sharing a journal page inspired by the January mood board – Summer Sorbet 🍉🍋
While digging through my craft stash, I couldn’t resist pulling out some of my new 13@rts products that I purchased from Scrapping Clearly. My journal of choice for this page is the Dylusions Large Ledger Journal, which is perfect for layering and getting a little messy.
For the background, I used 13@rts sprays in Pastel Yellow and Pearl Bordeaux. To bring in those juicy orange tones, I added Orange Rainbow Colour, a pigment powder that really packs a punch.

I started building my layers with Dina Wakley collage paper and incorporated her Seeing Is Believing stamp to tick off the bold mark making prompt.
The quote I chose for this page is:
“Peel away the worries and taste the sweetness of life.”
I used two stencils on this page. The first was a TCW stencil called Vintage Scrolls, which I applied using 13@rts white gesso mixed with texture powder. This gave me a lovely thick paste to work with and created my crisp coconut white texture. The second stencil was the 13@rts Summer Flowers stencil, used with an ink pad and blending brush for a softer layered look.
My watermelon slice was created by cutting a semi-circle from one of the pages. I painted it using 13@rts water colours and then integrated it into the spread by pulling in elements from the surrounding pages.
I’ve always wanted to use some of the Lucky Findings to make paper dolls, and these three fit so perfectly — they really finished the page for me.

As always, my final touches are hand-drawn details and splatter, because no journal page of mine ever feels complete without them!

Thanks so much for stopping by 💛 I hope this page inspires you to dive into your stash and play along with the mood board.

Welcome to my 'space' - Curated Collective Designer Emma Zappone

 Hello everyone 🤗

I thought I would share my little creative space with you all today as due to the awful heatwave  we have been experiencing (and my aircon breaking down), I can’t get in my space to create anything this week 🥵

A few photos of my organized chaos and where the creations come to life.

WELCOME

My little van, basking in the early morning sun.

My 'entrance' wall where I feel inspired as I enter.

My creative chaos station, this is where I plan, kit my classes and create all the fun stuff. I also have a large view of the world outside.

Just a small section of my product storage, we have converted cupboards and more to fit all that I need.
I love this space, even when I'm waiting for the aircon to get fixed 😂

I love that I have a space to call my own, it's little, it's messy, it smells great, and it's mine.

I would love to see your spaces and where you find your creative flair.

Thanks for joining me today.

Catch you all again soon.
Em xx

The Sweet Life by Tracey B

Happy New Year everyone

Here's a LO inspired by this month's mood board.

These are not colours I routinely I use so I grabbed my gel plate and had a bit of a play with some Dina Wakley paints (Magenta, Lemon, Rouge, Radical, Black & Medieval).

I also had to search for some suitable photos.   I found a very old photo of Paddy, sitting on the steps after a game of basketball and eating half a watermelon with a spoon - trust me - it was a thing!.   But the colours were wrong so I scanned in the colored photo and then used photo editing software (I use Be Funky) to create a 'charcoal' print.

I then tried to do an image transfer using my gel plate.   I have to say this was an epic fail.   I have an inkjet printer - who knew!   I'm going to try and buy some different paper and attempt this technique again so stay tuned.

In the end, I reprinted the photo just on copy paper and used that.

Here's what I finished up with.

Other products I've used include

Distress inks (Abandoned Coral, Mustard Seed, Kitsch Flamingo & Spiced Marmalade) blended through some stencils.
13 @rts gesso applied with a palette knife
Dylusions ink spray (Peony Blush & Cherry Pie)
49 & Market Artistry Sunburst filmstrips
Mambi Sticks chipboard stickers
Heidi Swapp acetate word
49 & Market Avesta chipboard
