Birthday Page with DT Katie

Good morning, good morning! Happy Saturday, and happy end of June! Half way through the year already and another year is flying past so quickly. We are about to head into the down hill run for our second daughter finishing high school which is crazy, but exciting at the same time. Do you have any big events happening this year? My page that I am sharing today could be considered a big event, it celebrates the first birthday of my nephew, first birthday's are always a big deal, mainly for the parents to celebrate surviving their child's first year!

I used the gorgeous Fancy Pants Designs Joy Parade collection for this page, there are so many bright fun papers in this collection, and I thought I would show you a way to use some of the busier patterned papers. But first, lets look at my page!

There were so many great patterns that I loved in the collection, and I decided the best way to use a bit of everything (well not quite everything, but close!), was to cut strips of papers and create a background, then I used some more in layering behind my photo. Using a black and white photo made it easy to use lots of different patterns too. I simply cut different width strips and layered them on my background, separating the busier ones with solid colours between, this way there is no competition between patterns. The papers that I used are: Sprinkle Some Joy, Add a Little Sparkle, Life is a Party, Lighter than Air, Love Pretty Garlands and Wrap it in Colour. Always remember that sometimes the best pattern/colour for you to use may be on the "B" side of the double sided papers! And if you get the collection kit you get two sheets of all of the papers so you can use both sides, as well as puffy stickers! Once I had sorted the background I used some of the papers with more solid backgrounds to mat my photo, then I was ready to embellish!

The fun thing about using strips on your background is that you have places to tuck in little embellishments like tabs, tags and frames. I did this in a couple of places using some of the extras that come in the collection, including the ephemera, the tags and labels pack and the puffy stickers shapes and dots. I love these puffy stickers as there are so many great shapes to use, I chose to add lots of the triangles, they are great for creating "pointing" devices!

I used one of the word die cuts for my title and layered with some more shapes and dots puffy stickers and also a flair button.

A few clustered labels and tags created a great place to journal and to finish off I added some black splatters, there is a bit of black on my page and it helps tie it all together, I used the Dylusions Black Marble, one of my go to black sprays!

I hope you give some of the ideas I used on this page a go, and if you do, please share your pages in the Facebook group I would love to see!

Thanks for stopping by,

Katie x

Make A Statement and Express Yourself.

Howdy Bloggers,Lisa here, it's Friday which means sharing
some inspiration through the joys of mixed media.
Today, I am sharing a few pieces from the #100dayproject.

Playing in ones art journal can be great therapy,
especially when you are thinking about bigger things, life issues and battling internal demons.
Ones art journal gives you a place to release those thoughts and angst through words and art.
Here's a few pieces from this last week, that I have created in reaction to things happening in my life. Its a way for me to process and release without taking it on internally/physically.
I art it, then let it go.

Love is Universal

 Every Artist......

Magazines and highly colour saturated books.

Thanks for dropping by the Scrapping Clearly blog today,
I'll be back next week with a new mixed media update.

Fun with spray colour

Hi Guys,

I was given a couple of colours of to play with from the shop
and

I was really happy with how they sprayed, nothing worse then when they jam. These sprayed lovely.

Take a piece of  Bazill marshmallow  because it is heavy weight it can take the wet medium.

Choose two of your favourite stencils/templates to use on your background or choose a new one from our extensive range here.

I used a word style template first with the Barbie colour, dried it off. The I chose a floral design and only sprayed across the centre with the glorious (yellow).

This is a great design to use up your scraps of colourful prints. Be aware also that they do not have to run the full length under the photo, you can cheat and add shorter pieces to the top and bottom.

I have finished off with some cheeky word grabs and a flair.

Have fun creating girls and I truly loved using the Art Anthology Paints.

Fabulous Layout with hidden Journalling

Hi everyone
Marelle back again to share a layout using the gorgeous new The Crafters Workshop stencils in our SHOP I used this with the Oxide Inks - in Salty Ocean -on a piece of Marshmellow cardstock I just love this colour - it is rich, it can be toned down by using water with it - just beautiful!!

I used the Oxide Ink and both stencils all over the page to create a simple background.

I decided to cut down the background to 11"x11" and adhere this to a 12x12 black raven piece of cardstock.

I double mounted my photo of my Daughter using Bazzill black raven cardstock  and Marshmellow cardstock.

I used a Heidi Swapp vellum envelope and placed my journalling inside this and tucked it behind the mounted photo.

I finished off the layout with navy sewing thread, "fabulous" title from Heidi Swapp  - our shop has so much gorgeous new and older Heidi products!

I hope you will try some of the techniques in this simple, but effective layout in the near future!

Thanks for popping in and remember, we love to hear your feedback - so leave us a comment on our blog posts!

Love Marelle xx

Perfect the way i am - With Emma.

Hello Beautiful SC fans.
Today its my turn to share with you my layout using some awesome products that you can find in store.

This layout I have used the very fun and cool range from Heidi Swapp.

Again my page has an awesome pic that I sourced from Pinterest.
So much inspo out there why not use it right?
Firstly I started with a blank piece of paper and painted it with Dylusions Rose quartz.
Then I stamped a couple of feather
stamps over it, and then cut them out ready to use.
Then I chose a sheet from the Heidi Swapp Pineapple Crush range in flamingle,
 (such a cool name).

For my background I painted black stripes with some Black gesso inspired by my gorgeous creative friend Tammy who totally rocks this concept every time.
Once dry I flicked the Rose Quartz acrylic over that.
Then I built my layers using a couple of the perforated square cards from Heidi Swapps mini messages book.

There is also a WRMK typecast tag tucked in there too.
My chipboard I painted in dylusions again but this time in fresh lime.
And the frame in the Rose.
I arranged my feathers as a 'tail' behind my photo with the chippy.

And I added a few rub ons from Tim Holtz life quotes and some complimentary stickers from Heidi swapp pineapple crush range. A handful of enamel dots and this layout was complete.

I hope you join in this week before the month is up, you could totally win yourself a voucher.
Ill catch you all next month with another cool challenge.
till then, Em xx

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies,

It's Karyn here,

I'm also playing along with the June Challenge where I've used a rainbow of colours and roughly followed the sketch :) We would love for you to join the challenge and be in the running to win a Scrapping Clearly voucher - you have until June 30 and you enter by uploading your photo to the album in the facebook group here.

I started with a sheet of white cardstock and applied some Prima Watercolor Confections using a painting with plastic technique.

I ended up turning my background up the other way then added some torn strips of paper from the Fancy Pants Designs "Hello Sunshine" Collection kit to the bottom. I matted my photo with more paper from the kit and added a paper doilie. I finished my page with elements from the Ephemera pack and Tags and Labels pack (also in the collection kit).

I also added some elements from the  Heidi Swapp pink puffy number sticker pack.

Paper Arts - Beauty

Hello Scrappingcleary followers, its my turn on the blog today and I have decided to share with you the amazing papers from Paper Arts, Artistry and Beauty.

I love these papers they are so good for layering and if your unsure about using paint or mists then the effect is already there for you.

I have also used an array of the amazing Prima blooms that are stocked by Scrappingclearly to embellish my layout.

With these papers and layering of them I have found it was more pleasing to the eye to cut around the leaves and layer the paper under neath them as can be seen in the above image.

I just love how the title is already on the paper yet looks like I may have created it.

I hope you have enjoyed the creation I have shared with you and I look forward to sharing more with you next month Kim,

Multi Photo Scrapbooking with Leonie

Hey, welcome to the Scrapping Clearly blog Leonie with you today, sharing a multi-photo page.
I often find that I scrap multiple photos to a page.
What about you? Are you a one photo per page scrapper or do you like multiphoto spreads?

We take so many photos these days and I always find it hard trying to narrow them down to just one particular picture to scrapbook per page so I often choose 2 or 3 of my favourites.  I also tend to size them down to 3 x4" or smaller so that they don't overcrowd the page.  Making them smaller also leaves rooms for all the pretty bits we like to add in the way of paper and embellishments while still leaving some white space.

The multiphoto page I'm sharing today celebrates the Endless Summer collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I created a page with this collection last month which you can see HERE.  I love the mint green and soft peach colours in this collection.
I teamed them up with a Kraft cardstock background to create this page.

A dry paint brush was used to lightly swipe some paint colour across the Kraft cardstock using Dina Wakley Acrylic paints.
I then stamped circles using the 49 And Market Stitched circles and doodled around the circles with a white gel pen.

Alphabet and Accessory stickers complement the papers I have used to matt my strip of photos.
I find a strip of photos is a great way to document sequential pictures like these ones of my boys throwing a frisby.  Helps to tell the story.
Enamel dots and shapes also from the Endless Summer collection add a little extra decoration to my page.

Thanks for stopping by the Scrapping Clearly blog today.
Happy crafting
Leonie Neal-Dawson.

The Power of Tattoos and how to create your own tattoo images.

Howdy Folks , Lisa here with a Friday mixed media art journal update.

Finding fresh ideas can come in many different inspirational forms.
Like coming across this Kat Von D Tattoo book of one of my girls,
instantly inspiring my need to get my collage technique flowing.

Ahhhh the beauty that can be found on bodies around the world, wearable art,
Tattoos are personal and unique for they
assist the wearer to be able to express their own creativity, through art.
And if you source some cool tattoo images,
its a simple way to create high impact in your journal.

Get this..... Art Within Art.......yep...mind blown.

This last piece I created to show that you don't really need a tattoo image.
Be your own tattoo artist and create upon any image using Rub Ons or just hand drawing in permanent pens and makers. Its an easy technique, quick and fun. Definitely give it a try.

Thank for dropping by the Scrapping Clearly blog today.
Ill be back next week with a new mixed media update.

I created some layers around my photo with the gorgeous Good Vibes 6x6 paper pad from Crate Paper. I fussy cut some of the elements including tags and mini houses.

I inked up some Heidi Swapp diecuts with Distress Oxide Ink in Mermaid Lagoon.

The final touches were some sprinkles of sequins and pink glittery buttons

Stash Busting with Leonie

Hello, Leonie with you today and I've gone back to one of my favourite collections for this post.
I created a heap of pages with the Fancy Pants Designs Golden Days collection earlier this year.
I still had some papers and embellishments left so decided to do some stash busting.
We all have bits of left over collections and kits in our stash so I was on a mission here to use up some of mine.
You can see some of the other pages I created with this range Here, here and here.

My Tribe
Falling Leaves was one of my favourite papers in this collection so I used it as a base for this page.
I used an old store card to swipe some Dina Wakley paint across my page.  The Night colour was a great match for the charcoal leaves in the paper.

I used lots of papers from the collection kit to layer under my photo.  This fancy pants collection has so many wonderful embellishments and I used plenty of them on this page.

For a little extra interest I used a real feather on my page along with the diecut feathers from the ephemera pack.  I used Heidi Swapp Color Shine to add some colour to the feahter.

I've also added some other bits and pieces from my stash to embellish my page.
A doiley, sequined heart and wood veneer.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Happy Crafting and Stash busting.
