 Good morning everyone and happy crafting Tuesday

Scrapping the good, the bad and the ugly!

I started my page by painting freehand some black stripes using Dina Wakley black paint.

I then used a foam blending brush and some Art Anthology paint (Fiesta and Shamrock through a couple of stencils.

I die cut some of the washi from Luckyfindings Foundation Bursted Oceania and added some 49 & Market Spectrum Gardenioa leaf rub-on.

My title came from an add on TV (Nike maybe?) and I outlined the words using pink and black stabilo pencils which I activated with a water pen. I finished off with some diamenties and Mambi puffy arrow stickers

I'd been reoranising my stencil storage solutions and found this packaging so I converted in into a pocket to hold some extra photos and journalling.

 Hi everyone and happy crafting Tuesday

Here's another take on this month's moodboard

I started this layout by scraping some Light and Fluffy through a stencil with a palette knife and with the stencil still in place, with the flat of the knife, roughed up the paste. 

When dry I sprinkled on some Color Glow (Sodalite and Tourmaline) and spritzed with water.

I added a few spritz of Distress Mica Stain (Frozen Fog & Winter Frost)   

Other products I've used include

49 & Market Filmstrip (Mariner)

American Craft Thickers (Sprinkles)

Gause, pearls, bow, acrylic hearts and flower bud stem from my stash.

“Every exit leads to a new entrance” - Curated Collective Team Member Lisa Oxley

This journal page explores transformation, courage, and embracing change. 

The quote “Every exit leads to a new entrance” reminds us that endings are not failures—they’re opportunities for new beginnings. The page has a bold, rebellious energy while still carrying a sense of hope and growth.

The Colour Palette Hot pink and magenta bring energy and confidence, Black add strength, contrast, and an edgy urban feel. Soft grey and white balance the brighter colours and create breathing space. Hints of purple and muted teal provide extra depth throughout the background.

The striking side-profile portrait immediately commands attention. * The shaved side hairstyle with vibrant magenta hair creates a modern, fearless aesthetic. The profile view symbolises looking forward rather than back, reinforcing the page’s message about moving on. 

The portrait is positioned slightly right of centre, allowing the mixed media background to support rather than compete with the focal image. 

Layered acrylic paint with dry-brushed areas. Background stamping using script, grunge textures and distressed patterns. White paint splatters soften the darker elements while adding movement. Black die-cut foliage creates bold silhouettes that frame the portrait beautifully. Diamond-shaped collage pieces introduce strong geometric contrast against the organic foliage. Visible paint drips add a raw, expressive mixed media feel. 

Composition

The page has excellent balance between structured geometry and organic forms. The repeating diamond pattern on both sides naturally leads the eye toward the portrait. * Black foliage climbs from the bottom left and upper right, creating visual flow around the page. Large areas of white space prevent the busy background from feeling overwhelming. 

The coordinating embellishments shown in the second image demonstrate how the page was constructed. Hand-cut diamond collage shapes were created from painted papers. Black foliage die-cuts were added to introduce contrast and visual movement.

These simple handmade elements add dimension while allowing the painted background to remain visible.

Black foliage — growth that continues even through darker seasons.

Paint drips and distressed textures — life’s imperfections that become part of the story rather than something to hide.

 Overall Feel

This page combines urban grunge with contemporary mixed media. It feels bold, expressive and empowering, encouraging the viewer to trust that every ending creates space for something new. The combination of vivid colour, graphic collage and delicate botanical elements creates a page that is both edgy and hopeful.
