Stitching Madness by Lauren Hender

Oh my goodness! All of you creative amazing people who stitch on your layouts I bow to you.
Oh it tested my patience BIG time. As a busy Mum sitting for a few hours to stitch on this layout nearly did my head in! Thank goodness it looks pretty otherwise you would have found me rocking in the corner of the room. lol.
(whinge over)

Hello everyone and welcome back to the Scrapping Clearly blog.
Today I am sharing a 6x12 layout highlighting an everyday moment of me and my little girl.

In the big scheme of things this was a really easy layout to put together and because of the detailed stitching being the feature it did not require many embellishments.

I began by using some of the new Dina Wakely scribble sticks. These are fabulous. When you gently apply to your page and add water they flow beautifully.

I then added some splashes of gold Heidi Swapp color shine to give it a little sparkle.

Then using a lead pencil I drew my designs on to the page. Using a paper piercer I poked holes a even points around the design.
I then began the pain staking task of stitching the design.
I did a happy dance when that was over lol

The cotton I found was ombre which is why you can see the colours changing throughout the stitching.

I then mounted my photo using some Teresa Collins something wonderful collection paper and adhered it to the page.
I then added the title using a Fancy Pants  - Joy Parade puffy sticker and a few Heidi Swapp gold puffy accents.

I added a few alpha stickers, finished off with some white liquitex white ink splashes and some white journaling. I was so happy with how it all turned out and did confirm to me that I will give that stitching another go.. one day... a long time from now.. lol.

Happy Scrappin
Lauren xo

  2. So beautiful.
I remember hand-stitching back in the day, so time consuming. It always seems worth it at the end but I must admit, I have not done it for years....
