Live Your Life - with Emma

Hi SC friends,
Emma here with you for this first Friday of the month, sharing my creation inspired by this months mood board.

It's an absolutely gorgeous board this month, very soft very feminine.

Stunning isn't it? Just makes you want to get creative.

Here are a few of the items I was inspired to play with in my layout, available now in the shop.

I started with the TCW Stencil Script Dots using a cement paste for my background interest.
Once this was dry I started to add a hint of colour. I did this my using Distress Oxides in Victorian Velvet and Tattered Rose. I smooshed it around with a piece of plastic packaging, which you can see my do in the video.

The Oxide grabbed to the paste and dried very quickly.
I really wanted to keep the background super soft just like in the board, so I only did a very light layer of the inks.

Next I attached a few pre-made layers from off cuts that matched the colour scheme.
Folding and adding a couple of the Heidi Swapp flower trimmings and rubbing a little of the oxide ink colour to blend in with the background.

Beautiful and simple items to use to create a whimsy and floral vibe.

The Tim Holtz Idea-ology acetate wings make a great layering element being transparent as well as adding that fine detail that creates height and a 3D effect.

I added a few awesome quotes from Tim Holtz small talk stickers to finalize the page. Helping to tell the story a little.

I hope this page inspires you to find the soft side and create something pretty.
I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Don't forget to check out the little video below that I made for this creation.

I look forward to
seeing you all again at the end of the month.
Until then, Happy Scrapping!

Fluffy Slime - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!

It's Karyn here, and today I have a scrapbook page to share with you made using lots of goodies from the Shimelle Box of Crayons collection available in the Scrapping Clearly Store.

For my base I've used a sheet of white cardstock. I added some background colour using Prima Watercolor Confections and a painting with plastic technique underneath in the area intended for my photo. To add more interest to the painted background I added some stamping and stencilling with texture paste. The stamps I used were Lavinia stamps dandelions and stones. Along the bottom of the page I added a barcode strip from Shimelle Box of Crayons paper.

I  created a range of tags from the Shimelle papers and added under the photo.

I also added some glass elements, metal embellishments, a paper flower and cotton thread. Finally I added some alphas to form my title.

Thanks so much for stopping by

'A Perfect Moment'

Hi everyone! Amy here. A new month and a new Moodboard - yay!
This Moodboard is a beauty - on so many levels - from the colours and tones to the subtlety of the textures.

I have here a photo captured from our accommodation during a recent trip to Western Australia. I thought that the photo was just the thing to match this gorgeous Moodboard...

... and so this is my take on this Moodboard.

I do have to admit that I found this Moodboard challenging to do, as I tend to do more brightly coloured and masculine-looking projects - being the mother of two boys. However, it was good to be out of my comfort zone and I am kinda happy with how this page came together.

I started the layout on a base of white cardstock primed with gesso. I then added a sheet from the Kaisercraft 'Ooh La La' collection from the store. This collection is full of gorgeous vintage-style papers. Next I added some stamping with a Kaisercraft background stamp.

For the circles, I simply dipped the lid of my Colourblast Colour Spray bottle into stamping ink and stamped randomly around the page.

I splattered both 'Love' and 'Roadbase' Colourblast Colour Spray over the page.

From here, more layers were applied to this page. Again, I used the Colourblast 'Roadbase' and 'Love' - with water - over the background.

Once this was fully dried, I splattered the background with Dina Wakley acrylic paint in 'Sterling' and Prima Art Alchchemy paint in 'Red Wine'.

Next I applied modeling paste over The Crafter's Workshop Mini Circle Stencil, to break up the background a bit.

Once this was dried, I adhered my photo down with layers behind it.

For the layers, I used some items from my stash, as well as fussy-cutting some shapes from the Kaisercraft 'Ooh La La' collection.

To finish off the page, I added some sequins for bling, and punched and inked some flowers from the Kaisercraft papers.

Finally, for the subheading, I used the Tim Holtz Idealogy Collection Small Talk.

I hope you can find a little inspiration from my layout and have a go creating your own project.

Thank you for dropping by.

Ciao, Amy.

Water Colour effect

Today we are playing with Ken Oliver's Color Burst pigment powders.
I wanted to achieve a soft water colour effect. This is where the June mood board took me.

I took a 12x12 piece of water colour paper, spritzed some water across the centre and very carefully added only a few specks of the orchid and violet colours.

I then used a heat tool to dry it off. Be aware though, once water or a wet medium is added it will react again even after it is dry.

I spritzed more water above and below the middle colours and added some of the glimmer mist with a pipette (not sprayed) for more control.
I then dried this off too. With a fine paint brush I added some of the black color burst powder which I mixed with water on my craft sheet first.

I just gathered some co ordinating pattern paper scraps, medical guaze, charms and paper flowers to use for my photo focal.

Have fun Playing with your art this month.
Thanks for looking

express in your journal

so it's the first day of winter ... and hasn't it shown its beautiful face over the past couple of days... my share today is totally off topic - not about weather or the new moodboard that you are all going to get to see... and i must say the new moodboard is amazing - and i cannot wait to have a play with it ... so... May has been a mammoth month ... I was out celebrating with friends last night and got home and just unleashed on my journal. Creativity has an amazing way of just encompassing you ... I hope you can gather some inspiration from my journal entry.

I have created in my Dylusions Journal using Dylusions paint - cherry pie and a stencil... I have rolled the paint on the page with a brayer and then placed the stencil over the top and wiped off the excess

I have then added some printed tissue paper with Liquitex clear gel

time to add a little Washi tape... I have used Dina Wakley Set 3

and now for a little stamping... i used the heart burst out of the stamping anonymous range

and the Stamping plate from Carrabelle Studios -- this process went a little pear shape and not as I had expected .... so a cover up was imminent

oh look.... Liquitex modelling paste and an awesome stencil... problem solved....

time to add a little more stencil love and black ... we love black

I am in love with these number discs by Freckled fawn

time to add the quote - I have snuck a little quote from the Cocoa Vanilla sticker page...

not sure - did i mention i used the Dina Wakley washi tape excessively ...

and after a few more stamps and a few more stencils... this page is complete....

I am a big believer in 3's - life is a funny thing whether it be good or bad luck or coincidences... embrace each and every turn... enjoy your creative weekend my friends...
