Love Deeply - Art Journal Page with Tania

Hello!!! Today I was feeling in an Art Journal mood for my Design Team share here with you! I have these cool, Vicki Boutin Mixed media products, that I'm still playing with, plus, I wanted to try out the Glass Pebble Rock from Michelle Grant Designs!! So this page has a little bit of everything on it! That's what Mixed Media is all about, playing, experimenting & having fun!!!

For my base layer, I painted the whole spread in the Toasted Marshmallow acrylic paint, then I used the Heidi Swapp Art Screen with some Sweet Buttercream paint.

I wanted to add a bit of red/pink so that the flowers would have an anchor on my page. I used Dylusions paint, and mixed a few different colours with some white. Once I painted that onto my page, I sprayed it with a little water and let it run across the page slightly! Then, I had some fun with the Glass Pebbles. The best way to adhere these to your page is use some Soft Gloss Gel, or something similar. (I used the Prima, Art Basics.) I mixed up a little pot of the Gel and the pebbles, using a palette knife, and spread them on my page. While the Gel was wet, I added a few more pebbles. This takes awhile to dry! To fill in the time, I fussy cut my flowers from the Floral Paper, from the Something Wonderful Collection, by Teresa Collins.

I made up my embellishment clusters, of flowers and when the Gesso was dry, I added a layer of White Gesso over the top of the Pebbles.
For my next colour layer, I used the Art Crayons by Vicki Boutin, in a kind of olive green, which came out more yellow! (I coloured with the crayon, and then painted some water over it with a brush.)

I then did a layer of stamping with some Kaiser stamps, and flicked some of the Acrylic paints, (mixed with water), over the page.
To finish off the page, I got messy with the Vicki Boutin Glitter, for the flower centres and added the word stickers from the Teresa Collins, Something Wonderful Range. With a lot of my Art Journal pages, I tend to finish off with a border of some description, otherwise it doesn't feel quite finished. My black journal Pen came in handy for that! I hope you like my process. It's a messy page, but I had fun making it!! I have linked to the products available in the Scrappingclearly store for your convenience! Happy Art Making!

Muddy Puddles in February with Melinda

Hi, hi and hello!! Welcome to the ScrappingClearly blog!!

It's Melinda here with you today sharing my take on the very fun March moodboard! Have you seen it yet?!

I just love, love, love this!! I was mostly inspired by the colours in the board this month, all those blues and greens, swoon!! Also, all those blue's on the bottom 2/3 reminded me both of mud splatters (ok, somewhat not realistic mud splatters!!) and of course the fun technique of smooshing paint onto paper so of course that is the main technique I went with on this page as you can see below!

Again, I am using the incredibly versatile Teresa Collins Something Wonderful range this time pulling the black's, white's and blue's from all the goodies!!

I had printed these 2 photos of my boys after a fun afternoon trip very recently to somewhere that should not have had muddy puddles this time of year!! You could say it was a once in a lifetime occurrence being that February is Perth's (traditionally) hottest Summer month with little to no rain and we not only received record breaking low temperatures but record breaking amounts of water drop from the sky!!!

We had a heap of fun this day and I wanted that to be somewhat obvious on the page and I think I achieved it!

I did pull in some alpha's from my stash but otherwise everything is from the Something Wonderful range!

And you can see in the background here (and all over the paint in the background actually!) that I have used the Heidi Swapp "Maze Art" Art Screen and the Silver Art Screen Ink and I love how it looks! This product is so different to anything else I have ever used!

I hope you like my share today and I look forward to seeing your take on this months moodboard and where it takes you!!

Until then, happy scrapping!!

3 Legged Race- Scrapbook Page by Tania

Hi Scrappingclearly Community, hope you are all enjoying our challenges this month. You've still got a few days left to upload them over on our FB Community Page.
Today, I'm sharing with you, my take on the moodboard by Peg!!! In fact, I think my layout is a little Peg inspired actually!!! The moodboard was just begging for some Mixed Media Action!!!

I have some great new products from the store! My kit had some awesome Products from Vicki Boutin, read about them here! (And see them in the shop here:). (Just perfect for my Mixed Media background!)

I started with a page from my Chickaniddy 365 collection- Weekend Wonder. (On special in the store.) Then, on some white cardstock, I used one of the gorgeous, Heidi Swapp screen prints with some of her Black, Art Screen Ink. OMG...the combination of these two products was enough to get the creative juices flowing. This stuff, not only has a lovely sparkle and shine to it, but it also has a rough, sandpaper-like texture to it aswell. I love it!!! The screen prints are slightly different to stencils, work almost the same, but have the added bonus of a sticky back so they don't slip when adding colour to your project!!!

When that was dry, I added a layer of spray ink with Dylusions, let it dry and using some Dusty Attic stencils & a circle stencil, I used the Vicki Boutin, Art Crayons #3, by drawing inside the stencil first with the crayon, and then adding a smidge of water with my finger to blend them. They work similar to Gelatos. They are a water soluble, oil pastel, and can be used wet or dry. i love them, they are thick and creamy.

Building my layers, I added some black, background stamping with a Kaisercraft stamp, a script stamp and then some washi tape, and some more papers from the Chickaniddy 365 range. There's a tag from the Teresa Collins, Something Wonderful collection, some twine and a cute flair from my stash.
I flicked some black Dylusions spray ink on the top and bottom corners, and then used the cute striped alpha stickers from Chickaniddy 365.

And here's the final result! Complete with some painted, black wood veneer from Studio Calico!

I hope I've inspired you to have a play with a mixed media background for this challenge, but would love to see your projects, no matter what style you prefer!!! Happy scrapping!!!

Totem Pole Twits LOL with Amy Prior

Hi there Scrapping Clearly fans! Amy Prior back with you again today, this time sharing a layout featuring lots of gorgeous products available from the Scrapping Clearly store including Teresa Collins, Heidi Swapp and Colour Blast brands to name a few.

Step 1: Place the Heidi Swapp - Art Screen - Mixed Media Maze over the background piece of Kaisercraft - Black 12x12 Cardstock and scrape through some Heidi Swapp - Silver Metallic Art Screen Print ink. Be sure to go back and forth a few times with nice pressure to avoid uneven screen printing.

Step 2: Repeat Step 1 on the opposing corner of the Kaisercraft - Black 12x12 Cardstock.

Step 3: Sprinkle some Colour Blast - Shimmer Spray - Fire Engine over the background by simply taking off the lid to the spray bottle, then splattering here, there, and everywhere.

Step 4: Layer various sized rectangles of Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Assorted 12x12 patterned papers underneath the photograph along with some Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Ephemera Tags, and Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Ephemera Pack among the layers. I have inked around the edges of everything with black ink to help them pop!

Step 5: Cut some thin strips of yellow chevron pattern from the Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - 12x12 Patterned Paper - Cards, ink the edges and adhere along the edges of the screen printed ink pattern.

Step 6: Embellish the page with various items from Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Chipboard Buttons , Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Ephemera Pack, Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Chipboard elements, Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Decorative Brads, Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Decorative Stickers , Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Enamel Dots, and Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Word Stickers.

Step 7: Cut some letters out of the Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Printed Paper 12x12 paper to use for the title. I have then used some letters from the Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Chipboard elements pack to finish off the title "Totem Pole Twits".

The complete product list for this project includes...

Well that is it from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!
