Salutations Bloggers.
Its me again, Lisa here, sharing some colour and arty goodness.
This weekend I am retreating in the beautiful Hunter Valley,
Teaching classes and enjoying wonderful food, accommodation and company.
I am scheduling this post, to make sure I am on time and so I enjoy my 5 days......,yay 5 days .
When I create backgrounds, I just have fun , play , and experiment.
Sometimes I create backgrounds that are a total mess. great colours, but too much and little white space. Its like I vomited colour on my page.
This is one of those backgrounds.
But I think I saved it, by approaching it like an art journal page.
I love creating colourful faces, and the combination of Dina Wakley Paints and Colourblast colour texture, really set off any page created on white cardstock ,so really it was just a simple process of drawing a figure an painting out the background with white paint . The wing was an afterthought, as I really wanted to keep a little more of the colour and texture in the overall work.
A little stamping ,some washi ,,heidi swapp apoxy words, butterflies, and then the layering of my matted photo muslin, punchinello plus the final details and its finished .
Heres a photo on my Instagram to show you the layout before it became a scrapbook layout.
I hope you are inspired never to throw a "mistake" background away.
Have a super arty weekend , I know I will x
Thanks for the encouragement and inspiration Lisa have a great weekend away!
