{introducing Peg Hewitt}

Welcome to the team

Peg Hewitt

Hi, I’m Peg,

For 15 years I’ve been a die-hard scrapbooker (who now occasionally toys with art journalling and canvas). Grunge and mess are common aspects to my work and I nearly always use some type of wet medium in my creations.  My style varies depending on my mood, the time I have at my disposal, and what is sitting on my table at any given moment. My process is organic, I don’t pre-plan, so I don’t know in advance what my finished project will look like. My primary motivation for creating anything is to tell a story, it comes from the relationships and experiences in my life, warts and all. Scrapbooking, to me, is cathartic. It keeps me sane and happy.

I have been regularly published in the Aussie mags for a number of years, being both a Creative Team member (2014) and a ‘Master’ (2015) for Australian Scrapbooking Memories Magazine. I was a member of the Tattered Angels Design Team for 2011, and spent 3 ½ years designing for Gauche Alchemy among numerous other team positions and online & print magazines. I have a full resume on my blog.

On the more personal side, I am happily married to a marvellous and supportive man and together we have 4 children (3 boys and a girl) aged from 20 - 12. We live in a country town in regional NSW on a 2 acre block with chickens, a cat, and a gorgeous garden/yard. I am a work at home mum and do the paperwork for our business as well as helping out at school with crafts, and volunteering on the Committee of the local community art gallery.

She Paints

Howdy Folks , Lisa Here,a few hours late today (work commitments) but here to share :)
I have a layout today , using some arty fun painty goodness and colourblasting fun paste .
for my background I've used some lush Dina Paint with a chevron stencil ,
then after drying time I've added some buttery Colourblast textured paste in Fire Engine using a ornate eastern stencil pattern.oh how I Love that shimmer.
Another stencil , this time a Donna Downey quote stencil in simple white modelling paste, a little stamping, then a few drips of housepaint and the background is almost complete.
The rest is just a little journal and doodling, paper layering and embellies.
Out came the Hambly, Bazzil basics antique ledger paper,
and muslin,a photo backed in black cardstock ,
and a rad Flutterbys Designs Flair completes this piece

 Check it !
I dedicate this piece to the artist in the photo,
youthful, beautiful, scholarly, artistic, incredibly inspiring,a globetrotter and a superb human.
Ruby, you are amazing ! ILY

thanks for dropping by , see you next week

Her Own Little Fairytale

Howdy Bloggers,Lisa Here, to share with you a page from my Art Journal.
Love the thickness and substance of the Dylusions Dyan Reaveley Journal.
Happy to say I recently purchased my 4th Journal, and love getting arty within the pages.
From my 1st Journal I can see my creative progression ,my growth and abilities improving.
I recommend everyone who doesn't have a working art Journal to purchase or make one.
This piece is titled : She Lives Life in her Own Little Fairytale.
I started with a simple head sketch and built up layers
with some fabulous Dylusions and Dina Wakley Paints,
some music sheets,a stabilo "magic" black pencil, black house paint and
some prepared background pages completed the essential elements to this artwork.
Quirky flowers and a little black super fine Posca Uniball Pens to finish the piece.
I hope your weekend is relaxing and creative.
I am envious,12 work days in the next 14,with only Friday's off for creative time.
So Please Go Get Arty for me!

February planning ... by Chloe

I am sharing another planner post today!

I am really loving my planner, making it pretty and taking the time to write a little about my day ...

So, here is February ...

Again, I've just decorated the plastic pockets ready to insert my fav pics of the month ...

I couldn't resist making a little SHAKER POCKET using the sequins and beads from the January Planner kit!!

Because, every month needs some sparkle, don't you think?? :D

Here's what my month looks like so far ... love adding some extra stickers and washi tape strips where there's a free spot!

You might remember last month I said that I was using the day pages as a kind of diary ... I'm really enjoying that .... here's a little peek at one of my weeks....  a few extras like stickers, stamps, washi tape and my fav paper clips which mark the week I'm currently on.  Nothing fancy here ...

At the back, I've added the yellow paper bag from the January Planner kit ... it's attached with paper clips and I'm using it to store my sticker packs and note cards ... a great way to keep them all in one place!

Products from the store:
Heidi Swapp Personal Size Memory Planner Gold Stripe
Heidi Swapp Memory Planner Puffy Heart Stickers

BACK AGAIN CRUSHING HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Happy Valentine's Day to you all.  Every year when my Daughters were young - around 5-9 years I would mail an anonymous Valentine's Card to our home, just for a bit of fun. They could not work out who was sending them Valentine's cards!  They soon caught on …  We have a lot of elderly people in our town, and there is a sweet old man (who lost his wife about 10 years ago), who walks his dogs each morning and evening - so I started placing a Valentine's card in his letterbox each year.

The layout I have chosen for today is..

A picture of Mia who was turning 6 with her Dad - there is so much love in this photo I adore it!
First I prepared my background, with Dylusions inks, water and stamps.  I just love the Marshmellow white 250gsm cardstock to use inks on it is perfect for mixed media application as its thicker than normal cardstock.

and you will see lots of these gorgeous tags in my upcoming layouts using Crush by We R Memory Keepers.

and these cute stickers

Then I decided to use strips of the Crush line from We R Memory Keepers - now this line has made me fall a little love with patterned paper after about 8 years of not using it!!

This technique is quick and easy and great for using up scraps of patterned paper.

Happy Valentine's Day and stay tuned for more layouts using the Crush line from We R Memory Keepers.
I hope to see some of your Valentine's layouts - why not try something you normally would not use - just like I did with patterned paper from Crush from We R Memory Keepers.

Until then, happy scrapping
