Happy New Year everyone
Here's a LO inspired by this month's mood board.
These are not colours I routinely I use so I grabbed my gel plate and had a bit of a play with some Dina Wakley paints (Magenta, Lemon, Rouge, Radical, Black & Medieval).
I also had to search for some suitable photos. I found a very old photo of Paddy, sitting on the steps after a game of basketball and eating half a watermelon with a spoon - trust me - it was a thing!. But the colours were wrong so I scanned in the colored photo and then used photo editing software (I use Be Funky) to create a 'charcoal' print.
I then tried to do an image transfer using my gel plate. I have to say this was an epic fail. I have an inkjet printer - who knew! I'm going to try and buy some different paper and attempt this technique again so stay tuned.
In the end, I reprinted the photo just on copy paper and used that.
Here's what I finished up with.
Other products I've used include
Lucky Finding Foundations Scribbly Mariposa tissue paper
Distress inks (Abandoned Coral, Mustard Seed, Kitsch Flamingo & Spiced Marmalade) blended through some stencils.
13 @rts gesso applied with a palette knife
Dylusions ink spray (Peony Blush & Cherry Pie)
49 & Market Artistry Sunburst filmstrips
Mambi Sticks chipboard stickers
Heidi Swapp acetate word
49 & Market Avesta chipboard
TFL
cheers
