Time to travel to Emotions

It's Saturday and I am here to bring you Two little beauties.

Last week's ATC and this week's ATC as well.

Let's start by going back in time to last Friday's prompt reveal.

week 18. Time Travel: illustrate a scene from the Past or Future.
lots of texture and yummy bits and pieces. (as per usual, Supply list at the end).

a little embossing of a stamp to start off and help create an interesting background
Ps. Transparencies are hard to photograph to make it look sharp.
adding some stamps to the background and some colours that evoke time.

Tomorrow's Memories

and then for this week's ATC.
week 19. Emotions of Colour: use colour to represent different emotions

Just when you thought there was a bit of texture in the one above.....
welllll.......

a background that started with some 49 & Market tickets, some crackle paste, a couple of oxide inks, and extra texture with some oil pastels through a number stencil.
a super fun and relevant quote from the same stamp set as the person walking the tightrope.
I think the tightrope figure is so appropriate for the emotion theme....
Emotions can be hard to balance at times.
hence my use of a lot of colours.
Just Because...
Thoughts.

May flowers minus the flowers....

 good morning Saturday!!!

I'm going alittle left of centre today and starting off with my share for the May palette play challenge.

this Month is well.. partially mum's month.

so it is all about pretty reds, pinks and I see purples.

see..

Pinks aren't usually me. neither are these colours but I gave it a red hot crack...

I did actually remember to take some photos along the way..
I knew I wanted to use an image from my new collage book, a Hambly screen print frame, and create it on a canvas.
But, when I cut the image out and then i found a frame that I wanted to use.
this was my first issue.
the frame is such an odd shape. What did I do? I had to find a backing paper to layer this on.
and because it was such an unusual colour.
I went with a cover of a very old sheet music book and used gel medium to stick it down. i love how this all cloudy and creates another layer of mystery.
I started with a blank canvas, coated it in gesso, added some texture paste through the diamond stencil.
I also NEEDED to use wings!!
I knew I didn't want to have white as the additional 'colour' and black is my favourite colour to add.
i know alot of people are scared of black but not me. bring it on.
next up was to find all the pink/red items that i have.
so, i had Stuff..
but I also knew I needed to use some chipboard because my pink/red collection is VERY limited.
i covered the chipboard in paint but that didn't do it for me, so i added some red ink.
then some embossing powder.. yay.
next up I worked on the background with magical shakers and oxide inks.
and started the layering process.
i used the pink brick hambly acetate print, and then more acetates from the 49& market set (supplies in at the end). Building up the layers with some cardboard.
laying bits and pieces together.
I was then stuck. so set it aside and went about colouring the wings..
it was a PROCESS. a process of adding stuff, wiping stuff off, adding stuff
and then trying to fix it.
I'm happy where it ended up.
This is the part when i forgot to take photos along the way.
so... I layered and played and layered.
oh and I added 1 flower... just to keep up with the theme..
Coming up is all the close ups before the final reveal.
lots of close ups...
