Moving Day

Hi everyone
You know sometimes when you see a photo and you think what the ...?   I always think I'm average height at 5'6" - maybe I'm shrinking with age!   Photo with my wonderful (and very tall) son.

My colour palette was inspired by the gorgeous 13@rts Blue magnolia papers.   This is what I came up with.

This layout had a bit of a confused start.   I started by mixing some Pearl Ex (which I thought was going to be gold but finished up being a dark brown) with some gel medium I have had in my stash for a while.   It was really thick and almost unworkable (Note to self - use your supplies!) I couldn't get it to move with my spatula and almost threw it away but instead used my finger to rub in through a Darkroom Door Stencil.  Also splodged a random bit in the right lower corner  so that's where my date went.

I then added some colour to the background using the plastic bag technique using Color Burst powders in Sepia and Burnt Umber, Lindy's Stamp Gang T-Bird Turquoise and Magical shaker in Guten Tag Teal, drying between each colour.

I fussy cut some of the 13 @rts papers and inked the edges with Distress Oxide Gathered Twigs which I also used to colour a little muslin.

Layered it all up and added some beads with 13@rts soft gel medium, my title and I was done.

Thanks for looking
cheers
Tracey

Tracey's H take on the mood board

Morning Peeps,

Coming to you from a grey and wet morning here on the central coast.
Another great crafting day for sure.

This morning I took a last minute look at the mood board and my pile of photo's pending and was inspired to create this layout.

I loved the colour pallette of the mood board and as I was tiding up my stamps I decided to use some as I went.

For the background I sprayed some lindys onto a flat paint pallete and just picked it up with a silicone spatula and swiped it down the page. Let dry.
I used distress inks and distress oxide inks for the stamping and to colour the chipboard.
I hope I have inspired you to have a go at the mood board this month. You still have today to enter.

Thank you for looking.
Stay safe.

Moodboard Inspiration

It is almost the end of the month and the moodboard got another hit from me. I have only taken a couple of colours from the moodboard to create my layout Clouds.

Don't forget to get your entry in - you can upload it in our Facebook Moodboard Album

I have created my layout on white cardstock. I have used Prima Art Alchemy paint in Metallique Pure Sunshine. Once I put it on my Gel Plate I brayered it out and then sprayed it with water. I took one print and then put my TCW Tuscan floral stencil on that then proceeded to draw another print which became the base for my layout.

I used the Dylusions Creative Dyary stamps and painted in the borders with Distress stain - ripe persimmon.

I added more texture to the page by adding Prima Art Alchemy Sparks in Ginger Magic. I applied this with a spatula so that It would keep dimension. I then found the placement for the photo and drew a pencil line around it in readiness for sewing.

Black cotton was used to sew a border around the photo space and then some ALLS pencil in black was added. I then had a change of mind and moved the photo slightly to the right and then added more stitching in a vertical direction.

I found a quote about clouds on the internet and typed it out on some cardstock. It was then cut and glued using Tombow glue on the layout.

The final touches were a few drops of Distress spray - Fossilized amber and some metals

I hope you and your families are staying safe in these troubling times. No doubt there will be lots to journal about and scrapbook to let our future generations know. Until next time - take care.

More Pages inside my Art By Marlene Tag Journal....

Hey Hey It's Friday!!
I hope to inspire you all to get into art mode and start using up all your bits and pieces in your stash.I am back with a few more pages in my Art By Marlene Tag Journal.....are you ready????...lots to look at I admit I went a wee bit crazy with my collage papers!!!

So here is the 3rd page:

As I said mostly collage fodder I have in my stash with a hand carved stamp. The only thing I did add is the small frame from the Jane Davenport Colourist Stickers set on the left hand corner available in the Scrapping Clearly shop.

And now here is the 4th page.

It has a lot more product on it as you can see. I used the collage paper by Jane Davenport once again and also the Boho Chic Stamp by Art by Marlene.

In the background I used the new Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays and added the tissue of the girls with Matte Gel Medium. I stamped the Boho Chic image onto Dina Wakleys' Plain Collage paper  then added it using the same Medium over the girls to disguise the edge of the paper.
I then added some typed words and thready collage paper and I was done!
Products used:
Art by Marlene Tag Journal Kit
Scrapping Clearly Spotty Paper wrap
Tabs by Scrap FX
Old book paper
Collage Papers and scraps from other projects in my stash
Hand carved Stamps
Tag from my stash

So there you go....we have a few pages to go....hoping you like them so far and they inspire you to have a crack at making your own.....we suddenly have plenty of time on our hands....we have to keep our minds busy so why not get off Netflix and start playing with our supplies!
Happy creating,
stay safe everyone!

Home - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!

It's Karyn here, and today I have an art journal page to share with you made using various products available in the Scrapping Clearly Store

I've used my Small Dylusions journal and created a background using Prima Watercolor Confections.

Next I added torn strips of washi from my stash, then I added some background stamping, and I drew around the edge of the page with a Fude Ball pen.

As a feature I added some punched leaves and a butterfly die cut. I coloured some white muslin also using the Prima Watercolor Confections.
Lastly I added some stickers from the Art-by-Marlene sticker book.

Thanks so much for stopping by
