Moodboard Inspiration with Emma.

Welcome to Tuesday everyone!

Today I'm sharing my layout inspired by the ScrappingClearly moodboard.

The inspiration came from the colours and I purposely chose just 3, especially inspired by the flag colours.

I've really been enjoying choosing limited colours and then adding neutral tones to allow the colours to really shine.
For the base colours I used yellow, white and black Dylusions paint and the red is a Dina Wakley acylic paint.
I pulled out a few sheets from the September skies 6x6 pad to frame my pics.
In this pad there is a sheet entirely of quotes and bubbles, I chose to cut the quote out and make it fit into my layers.

Choosing only a couple of stamps, I used a Darkroom Door hexagon stamp and the cool art stamp in numbers.

This page has quite a few elements from the Heidi Swapp September Skies wood veneer pack.
I picked the hello word and hexagons, with a few arrows for fun.

And yes I totally splashed around some Liquitex Carbon ink on my page.

I loved how only a few elements and 3 colours made such an impact on this page.

I hope this inspires you to create from this months challenge and be in the running for a $30 store voucher. How awesome!!!

I can't wait to see how the board inspires you.

Catch you soon.

Art Alchemy Impasto Paints Are Soooooooooooo.........

Howdy Folks ,Lisa here with a Friday Mixed Media update,
Unfortunately I was unable to get online last week due to NBN issues,Grr
but I am back this week to share  a new art journal piece I have been playing with ,
incorporating the super cool , Art Alchemy Impasto Paints from Finnabair ,
released through Prima , and some fun collage style techniques .
So happy to have these amazingly lush rich paints into my arty stash, finally !
I started by using the paints to fill in some vibrancy into the background. and boy,
that is exactly what these paints do, add a beautiful vitality to the overall look..
I added some layers with stencils and more paint to my Dina Wakley Media Journal
then after finding a few photo images in magazines,
I cut them out and added them to the page with liquitex matt medium.
A little Fude ball doodling and added details with more stencils and a some Colour Blast Bling for the central image , brings focus and attention to a focal point on the page.
I am absolutely loving this style of entertaining art journaling atm and
I really do intend to spend more time creating fun pieces using this cool collage style .
You should definitely try it out .
Thanks for dropping by, I'll be back next week with a mixed media blog update .

Dreaming about Liquitex Spray Paints.

Howdy Bloggers , Lisa here with a Friday mixed media up date .
Ohhhh I finally have some time to create this week...
and to get my flow going I want to recreate a piece similar to the gorgeous" Charisma"
Dreamcatcher I created a few months back .
So the story is, I have some frames with broken glass ,
that were damaged during the framing process, when preparing for my exhibition.
While perusing Instagram I came across this artist who painted out onto the frames and it looked so cool ,I thought I would incorporate that into my warm up piece for my weekend of at home, undisturbed ,creative bliss.
This is basically how I did it.
I started with Gesso onto the board to create a barrier ,then added Dylusions ,Dina and Liquitex acrylics paints in a rainbow configuration. Drying time , then the fun starts .
Did you know that Scrapping Clearly have an incredible supply of
I have been waiting for the right time to drag them onto the art table and today was the day-
(it helped that I cleared off 2 of my back veranda working benches:)
oh Stencils and Spray Paint ,
how you were made for each other .
so quick ,
so effective for adding quick accents and interest points to background  pieces .
I busted out a plethora of my favorite dreamy stencils and went to work layering this baby together.
Using Colour Blast coloured paste in Royalty ,Envy and Just Blue for the Mandala style stencil , gives this piece shimmer and shine .
check out my mini Instagram video here.
More Layering and some flicks of house and and this piece was almost complete ....almost
it needed a few birds.. :):):):)
Thanks for dropping by the blog, see you next week :)
Oh and this Dreamcatcher is For Sale, shoot me a message if your interested .
