Love by Belinda Spencer

 Hello Scrapping Clearly fans!

It's Belinda here today to share my latest layout for Scrapping Clearly inspired by the July Mood Board.

Aren't these colours just so pretty?!

For my layout I began by cropping a piece of Bazzill Marshmallow Heavy Weight Cardstock to my preferred size and mounted on a cropped sheet of Heidi Swapp Favourite Things patterned paper from the 12 x 12 Paper Pad. I then spritzed the page with the new Tim Holtz Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Spray. I LOVE this colour so much! I dried the page with a heat gun and then used the same Distress Oxide Spray to spritz a Vicki Boutin stencil. I placed the stencil on a random page in my black paper art journal to spritz it so none of the colour would be wasted. I then stamped the layout with the stencil to get some random stencil marks. I repeated this until I was happy with the coverage and then flicked some of the colour over the page too.

Once I had dried the page, I added some stamping using Vicki Boutin stamps and the Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink Pad.

I chopped up a bunch of Heidi Swapp papers mostly from the 6x8 Paper Pad and layered them together. I tore a strip from a Heidi Swapp 6x6 Die Cut paper and stuck that down on the page before adding the paper stack. I layered a Heidi Swapp banner sticker over the top before adding my photo and the remaining embellishments. I finished with a little bit more stamping using the Heidi Swapp Always Mini Stamp Set.

Products used:

- Favourite Things Stickers

- patterned paper
- stencil
- Kaleidoscope stamp and die set

- Distress Oxide Spray Salvaged Patina
- Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina

COCOA VANILLA STUDIO Free Spirit Little Hearts

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I hope you are feeling inspired to have a play with the mood board this month too.

Cheers

Happy with Belinda Spencer

 Hello Scrapping Clearly peeps!!

It's Belinda here today with my latest project inspired by the marvelous May moodboard and featuring fabulous product from the store.

How warm and bright are these colours? I love them.
To start my layout, I first wanted to use one of the NEW Colour Study Stencils from Vicki Boutin. I hate the straight edges showing when I spritz with colour sprays so I first masked off the edges with torn scrap paper.

After I used the stencil I then turned it over and 'printed' the design into a journal I keep on hand to use up excess inks etc. It gave a really nice image.

For the red ink spray, I made up my own concoction using some Candy Colour Blast Shimmer Dust and distilled water in a mini mister. I added about a pinch of shimmer dust and then topped up the bottle with the water and shook well.

I spritzed some of the colour over the top of the stencilled image and let it drip down the page. I flicked some of the colour over too. I added a little more stencilling at the top right too.

Next I added some more flicks of colour using Dylusions Squeezed Orange Ink Spray and Mint Green Heidi Swapp Colour Shine.

Next I added some stamping using Jet Black Ranger Archival Ink and a stamp from the NEW Vicki Boutin Colour Study Stamp Set.

I grabbed a scrap of the heavy weight Marshmallow cardstock and played with the other stencils in the Colour Study range and the same ink sprays. Once this piece was dry, I then stamped some images using the Colour Study stamp set again and the Jet Black ink. I fussy cut the images to use on the layout in the next step.

I cropped some patterned paper from the Colour Study 6x8 Paper Pad and created a paper stack including some doilies I had in my stash and the fussy cut flowers as well as a tag from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Salvaged Tags set.

Finally I added my photo as well as the title, a Charm's Creations orange arrow and some fussy cut stars from the Vicki Boutin Let's Wander Stars patterned paper.

'Happy'

Here's a few close-ups.

I love this photo I snapped of my darling daughter when she used to let me take photos of her!!

Here's what I used:

DOODLEBUG DESIGNS Mini Paper Doilies
COLOUR BLAST Shimmer Dust Candy
TIM HOLTZ Idea-ology Salvaged Tags

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. I do hope you find some time to play along with the moodboard this month.

Cheers
Belinda

Sweet - A Girly Scrapbook Page with Katie Howard

Good morning!
Half way through another month already, can you believe it?!
February is a busy month for me with two of my three kids having birthdays, as well as other things,
and being a shorter month it always seem to disappear as quickly as it came.
How about you? Do you have a month that seems to come and go in a flurry of activity?

Today I am sharing a page that I created based on the February sketch, have you had a go yet?
I hope that my take on the sketch might inspire you to give it a try if you haven't already.
This is the album location in the Facebook group where you can find the sketch
and load your entry - here. To get you started here is the sketch

No automatic alt text available.

This is my take on it

The most obvious thing I did was flip the sketch, I did this because my photos have my niece looking into the page with this orientation rather than out of the page if I had left the sketch as is, this helps keep your eyes within the page. A good tip to remember in your own designs! I also shrunk down the main sketch so I could mat it on a background.

I had a bit of fun playing with the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection, I love how I was able to pick papers and elements that carried through the pink, green, and yellow colour combination. I used Graceful for my pink mat of the main sketch and Library for the background of the main sketch. Then there were bits from Be Happy, Cheerful, Garden Club, and Adventure for matting and fussy cutting. With the floral nature of the collection I decided to continue the theme with some of the Heidi Swapp Minc Art Screen flowers. I turned these Art Screen flowers into foiled flowers to add some extra shine to the page.

Besides the art screen I used Reactive Screen Ink and Rose Gold foil. If screen printing isn't your thing there is also reactive paint and mist for adding touches of foil to your projects! Use the paint and mist through stencils and with masks, so many options!

Once my print was dry and I foiled it, I decided to colour the flowers using some Distress Oxide inks. I simply swiped some ink on my craft mat, added some water, then painted as I would with water colours. The great thing about doing this is the foil acts as a resist and can be painted over without losing its shine and effect. I used Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberries, Fossilized Amber, and Cracked Pistachio as they matched the Crate Paper collection the best.

Once painted I just needed to let them dry then fussy cut them out. Lucky for me the shapes weren't too complicated as I am not very good at fussy cutting!

Then it was time to assemble. I created some clusters with the foiled and painted flowers according to the sketch and finished off with some chipboard hearts from Heidi Swapp. This set of stickers worked perfectly with the Chasing Dreams colours too.

The vintage buttons from the Chasing Dreams collections are way too cute, here I used one of the black ones over the hole in the tag. The stickers in this collection are also fabulous with some being gold foiled, which worked with my gold foiled flowers perfectly! To finish off I used the puffy thickers to create my title surrounded by some cute sequins. Have I said lately how I love puffy stickers??!! This font is nice and thin and, being white, it gives a nice subtle look that doesn't overpower the softness of the page.

So that is it from me today.
I hope I have given you some ideas on how to change up the sketch to suit you and your photos, and that you give it a go!

Thanks for stopping by,
Katie x

Friends Make the World Beautiful - A Layout by Kylie Tout

Morning Scrappingclearly friends - I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend....

My layout today is super bright and happy and truly depicts these two girls and their friendship!

This layout was based around a new paper range that Scrappingclearly has arriving soon to the website.
Paper Arts is designed in New Zealand, I really love this paper range.
Be sure to keep an eye out in the store.

I have used Whimsical 2, both sides are awesome I really wanted to use both sides......

To add more depth and dimension I used some prepared cardstock which I had sprayed with Dylusions and stencils. I cut a circle shape and added some Lipstick Colour Blast texture paste with a stencil to create a dimensional pattern and set aside to dry. Once dry I detailed around the edge with a Black Stabilo pencil

I used surgical gauze sprayed with Postbox Red Dylusions Spray and set aside to dry.

Using Viva Inka Gold Copper and a sponge, I coated a chipboard element.

A TIP when using the Inka Gold Copper Rub - just remove a small amount with a clean cloth, not your finger, so that you aren't introducing any bacteria.

There is not a lot of preparation in this layout with the background paper being already so arty.... so the next thing is to start layering the layout.

I adhered a piece of old book paper, with green paint which has been watered down, to the background paper.
Next is the previously made circle, with texture paste and the Surgical Gauze.
Then the photo on top of all layers.

Once all layers were down I embellished with Enamel Dots and a metal butterfly, along with some Tim Holtz small talk stickers and the Copper Coated Chipboard embellishment.

Of course the last detail was to journal, which I have completed with, of course, a Black FudeBall pen.

I hope you have enjoyed this layout.....I am busting to have these papers available so keep an eye on the shop.
The will also be notification in our Facebook group, join us there and play along with our sketch or mood board challenges each month for a chance to win $30 shop credit.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Golden Days of January by Leonie Neal-Dawson

Hello and welcome to my first post for the year.
I hope your New year is off to a cracking start.

I've just returned from 12 days camping on the NSW side of the Murray river
so I'm still very much in holiday mode and feeling quite relaxed.
The weather for our holiday was perfect, we spent our days swimming by the 'beach' as we call it and floating down the river. I even managed to squeeze in some scrapbooking time, along with a Champagne or two.

They truly were Golden Days which is the collection I will be using to hopefully inspire you throughout the month. Here are some of my holiday snaps, hopefully soon to be scrapped!

One of the pages I scrapped while away was my take on the Scrapping Clearly January Sketch.

You can load your entry and see all the details HERE in our Facebook group.

As mentioned I used the Fancy Pants Golden Days Collection to create my page.
Some photo's of my daughter before her Grade 6 End of Year/Primary School Celebrations.
The Navy Blue and Peach colours in this collection suited these pictures beautifully.

To add some direction to my page I added these arrows from the Golden Days Puffy Stickers pack.

I love this little cluster. A tag with gold foil from the Golden Days Gift Tags and Labels pack, layered with elements from the Golden Days Ephemera pack.

I added some White Linen Dylusions Ink Spray and Heidi Swapp Color Shine splats to that lovely Wood Grain base paper.

And of course my page wasn't complete until I added some journalling about the photo's. I did this on another of the Tags from the Tags and Labels Pack and slid it behind one of my photo's.

Thanks for stopping by today, happy crafting.
