This is something wonderful

Happy Tuesday everyone.

Don't you just love this month's mood board?   Although I must admit, it took me a while to work out what exactly the left photo was.   Did anyone else have the same problem?

And then when I did see it, I couldn't see anything else!

So I decided to go with a few pie charts.   I backed my cut files with some scraps including some gel print pieces I had left over from another project.

I started with white cardstock and a stencil and rubbed a Ranger Emboss It dabber over the stencil.   Versamark or similar would probably work the same.   I removed the stencil and then sprinkled the ink with mica powder.   I must admit it made a bit of a mess and although it sort of adhered to the ink after I heat set it, it also went almost everywhere else!   I attempted to brush it off with a soft makeup brush but didn't have a great deal of success so my page is more pink than intended.

I then added my fave Art Anthology dimensional paints (Velvet Fiesta & Sorbet Cameo) through another couple of stencils.   It may be difficult to pick up in the photo but IRL the Sorbet has a gorgeous sparkle and shine.

I added some stamping and chipboard embellishments from the Teresa Collins Wonderful collection and some enamel dots from my stash.

Here is what I created.

The products I've used include

Colour Blast Mica Powder (Watermelon)

Ranger Emboss It dabber

Donna Downey Stencil (Bubbles)

Art Anthology Dimensional paint

Carabelle Studio Stamp - Mixed Media Strips

Teresa Collins Something Wonderful chipboard embellishments

TFL. Have a creative day.

cheers

Love this Life by Emma Zappone

Hello!!!

Emma here with you today, and I must say how awesome it feels to be back designing for
Scrapping Clearly again!!
How totally awesome is the January mood board
Because of it's awesomeness my design share today is inspired by it.

Here is the layout created......

Here is the mood board to refresh the inspiration......

The minute I laid eyes on it I thought I would bring more of the orange and soft pinks out of it. And so this is how this page developed.

The base sheet of paper already had a lot of colour on it but wanting to adjust it a little more towards the theme I added Rose Quartz & white linen Dylusions paints with a brush to make it look the same but bring it to match the colours more.

The chipboard is painted with Seth Apter inks in cotton candy & burnt orange, painting and creating a 2 toned effect.

The stamping in the background I must admit I had to dig around to find a good match, I found an old Finnabair stamp and matching in with the newspaper book paper used a Darkroom Door stamp.

For the embellishments I kept it very simple, and opted to fussy cut some Scrap FX scrappy bits, the ones best suited to the colours. Subtle but effective.

This was a nice quick layout with plenty of colour impact.

I can not wait to see what you all create with this mood board.
And I do hope this has inspired you to get creating.

Till next time, Happy Scrapping, Emma :)

Best time together with Amy Prior

Hi there Scrapping Clearly fans! Amy Prior back with you all again today, this time sharing my take on the fantastic Mood Board challenge we have over on the Scrapping Clearly Community Facebook page. Here is the mood board...

...and here is the layout that I have created using this mood board as inspiration. I have a quick step-by-step tutorial showing how I created the background for this layout below.

Step 1: Scrape some Liquitex - Glass beads effects medium through a stencil using a palette knife over the top of some American Crafts 12x12 Double Thick White Cardstock and dry completely either naturally or using a heat tool.

Step 2: Mix some Colour Blast - Shimmer Dust - Duke & Candy with water and use it to paint some Heidi Swapp - September Skies - Color Magic - Die cuts words.

Step 3: When the Liquitex - Glass beads effects medium has completely dried, spray a deep puddle of water over the areas where you would like there to be colour on your background.

Step 4: Using the tip of a long thin palette knife, sprinkle tiny amounts of Colour Blast - Shimmer Dust - Duke all over the puddle of water that you have created on the background.

Step 5: If the powder is not dispersing enough, spray a little bit more water just over the top of dry areas. Let it dry completely either naturally or by using a heat tool but try to avoid moving the water around with the heat tool as you want the colours to be blotchy looking for a multi tone effect.

Step 6: When the Colour Blast - Shimmer Dust - Duke is completely dry, use your finger and gently rub some Viva Decor - Inka Gold - Silver over the texture on the background.

Step 7: Cut various rectangles and squares out of American Crafts - Shimelle - Starshine patterned papers - various  to layer underneath the photograph.

Step 8: Finish off the layout with various items from American Crafts - Shimmelle Starshine - stickers, the painted Heidi Swapp - September Skies - Color Magic - Die cuts, and My Mind's Eye - On Trend 2 - Acrylic words. Adhere the clear stickers to white cardstock then fussy cut if you would like them to stand out better like I have here with the hot air balloon.

Well that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!

Goggles + Hunter ~ A Scrapbook page with Melinda

Hi there fellow ScrappingClearly fans, it's Melinda here with you today and I am super excited to share my take on this month's super fun and bright mood board designed by the very talented Peg from the design team!

Here is a little refresher:

Ah!!! I seriously love it! I do have to admit, I was a little unsure to start with. That is until I started flipping through my printed photos and this one of my baby just jumped out at me as perfect for this board! And paired with my favourite collection, of all time, ever!! Starshine by Shimelle Laine :D

Here is my take:

And here is my process video for this LO

I really, really, really love how this turned out!! I cut the title on my cameo and then backed each letter with some offcuts from the 6x6 paper pad. Oh, after I did some playing with gelato's and water and some Colour Paste!

A couple of little layers behind the photo - more scraps, a piece from the ephemera pack and a clear sticker. And then, a fun, rainbow border around the left and top - again, more scraps! If you watched my last process video you would have seen me "screw up" the other side of this paper (it has all the little stars on it - one of my fave papers, ever!!), so I stuck down the 2 sides I had applied gesso too, attached to my white cardstock and saved the left overs from behind the white cardstock ;)

Last up I added in some black splatters, my journalling, some stitching around 2 sides, a little stamping and a sharpie pen to outline each letter in the title!

You still have 2 whole weeks to enter the challenges this month so make sure you head over to the FB group here to load up your entries to go into the drawn for a voucher to the store!

Also, did you see that ScrappingClearly have just launched some awesome online classes with members of the DT teaching?! There are still a few days left to sign up to the 1st class with Skai so if your interested you can find all the info here.

Thanks as always for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!

Melinda
